Chairman of the Jury

Igor Shcherbakov – contemporary Ukrainian composer, pedagogue. Honored Worker of Arts of Ukraine, Head of the National Union of Composers of Ukraine, Professor of the composition department of the National Music Academy named after P.Tchaikovsky, Corresponding Member of the National Academy of Arts.

Born in 1955. Graduated from the Kyiv State Conservatory named after P. Tchaikovsky (class of Professor V.Kireyk). Works in the genres of opera, symphony, theater, chamber instrumental, vocal, choral and children’s music. His works are performed and issued in Ukraine and abroad. The composer has been honored with the Taras Shevchenko National Prize of Ukraine and Artistic Award ‘Kyiv’ named after Artem Vedel.

Olexander Tarasenko – choral conductor, pedagogue. Honored Worker of Arts of Ukraine, Head of the All-Ukrainian Choir Society named after M. Leontovych, choirmaster of the National Opera of Ukraine named after T.Shevchenko, associate professor of the National Music Academy of Ukraine named after P.Tchaikovsky, regent of the bishop’s choir ‘Fresco Sonore’ of the Spaso-Preobrazhensky Cathedral in Kyiv.

Born in 1967. Graduated from the Rivne Music College and the Kyiv State Conservatory named after P.Tchaikovsky (class of Professor, People’s Artist of Ukraine M.Krechko). In 1991 he founded and headed the choir ‘Resurrection’ of the Holy Resurrection Cathedral in Rivne and has been its constant leader for 21 years. The choir ‘Resurrection’ under the guidance of O. Tarasenko became the winner of three All-Ukrainian and six international competitions, as well as a participant in numerous international choral festivals.

Galyna Gorbatenko – choral conductor, pedagogue.People’s Artist of Ukraine, teacher of the Kyiv Music Institute named after R., founder, artistic director and chief conductor of female choir of the Kyiv Institute of Music named after R.Glier.

Born in 1945. Graduated from the Kyiv State Conservatory named after P. Tchaikovsky (class of D. Zavadinsky). She was the main choirmaster of the Kyiv Municipal Academic Opera and Ballet Theater. For many years she has been working with children’s and youth choirs, who have become winners of numerous international competitions.

Sasho Tatarchevski – choral and symphonic conductor. Professor at the Faculty of Music in Skopje, conductor of the FM Symphony orchestra, the ‘Dragan Shuplevski’ mixed choir, the Female choir of the Youth center and the ‘Pro Ars’ professional chamber choir. A regular jury member of several international competitions and artistic director of the International choral forum in Struga (Macedonia).
Born in 1972. Graduated from the Faculty of Music in Skopje (master`s degree of choral, symphonic and opera conducting), participated in conducting master classes all over the world. Mr. Tatarchevski has performed with the Macedonian philharmonic, the Macedonian opera and ballet, the Bitola chamber orchestra and many other well-known orchestras. He won numerous international prizes with various ensembles, as well as several conducting prizes.

Raul Talmar – choral conductor, pedagogue. The President of the Estonian Choral Association, Assistant Proffessor of choral conducting in Tallinn University, conductor of the mixed choir K.O.O.R. 

Born in 1959. Graduated from the Estonian Academy of Music. During 35 years he has conducted many Estonian top choirs, such as the Academic Male Choir of the Tallinn University of Technology, the male choir of the Helsinki Trade University, the female choir of the Klementi Sewing Factory, the Pärnu Mattone Chamber Choir, the National Girls’ Choir «LEELO», the Tallinn Russian Choir and Tallinn St. Charles Church Concert Choir. He has been a jury member and workshop presenter at numerous international choral festivals. In summer 2018 Raul Talmar was the Estonian artistic director of International Choral Festival “Europa Cantat Tallinn 2018”.
